The death of Maj. Charles L. Kelly on July 1, 1964, and his dying words—"When I Have Your Wounded"—have rightfully been seen as a transformative moment in U.S. Army aeromedical evacuation. In this presentation, retired Col. Donald E. Hall, U.S. Army Medical Service Corps, argues that this wasn't an isolated event in Kelly's life, but that his career prepared him for this moment of leadership. Hall will review Kelly's career and highlight moments of his history that led to his significant contribution to combat medicine.
