Join NMHM during Audiology Awareness Month for a virtual science café with U.S. Army Lt. Col. (Ret.) John Merkley from the Hearing Center of Excellence to learn how the amazing ear works and what can cause hearing loss. Merkley will demonstrate the anatomy of the ear using HCE's 3D interactive ear models that enable you to explore both normal physiology and 14 different ear diseases. Additionally, viewers can experience and learn what hearing loss can sound like through special simulators, and witness how hair cells, which enable hearing, are damaged through an engaging demonstration.
Free! Open to everyone.
